Advanced Clinical Hypnotherapy techniques and NeuroLinguistic Programming (NLP) constructs are available as tools in the coaches toolkit. For the most part, our coach’s knowledge of Hypnosis and NLP provides them with deeper insights into how the unconscious mind interacts with the conscious mind. Noetic Coaching is based on the concepts of brain-based coaching, so our coaches look into all methodologies that help better understand how our unconscious mind affects our conscious actions.
Mental Mindsets are those negative habits that are part of our conscious and unconscious minds that impact our daily activities and are key elements that are part of who we are. They can affect our abilities to successfully achieve our goals, both short-term and long-term. Simply understanding how those bad habits impact our lives is the first step in mastering them.
Dr Richard Bandler coined the term "NeuroLinguistic Programming" in the 1970s. He was asked to write the definition of NLP that appears in the Oxford English Dictionary. "NeuroLinguistic Programming is a model of interpersonal communication chiefly concerned with the relationship between successful patterns of behavior and the subjective experiences, especially patterns of thought, underlying them" and "a system of alternative therapy based on this which seeks to educate people in self-awareness and effective communication, and to change their patterns of mental and emotional behavior."
In simpler words NLP encompasses the three most influential components involved in producing human experience: neurology, language and programming. The neurological system regulates how our bodies function, language determines how we interface and communicate with other people and our programming determines the kinds of models of the world we create. NeuroLinguistic Programming often incorporates hypnosis and self-hypnosis to help achieve the change (or "programming") that is wanted.
“Fantasy is a necessary ingredient in living, it's a way of look at life through the wrong end of a telescope, and that enables you to laugh at life's realities.”
- Dr. Seuss
Simply because it's proven to work. If you want to have more choices about your behavior and emotion, to improve your relationships and the way you communicate, and create better results through becoming a greater thinker, then NLP can provide you with a step-by-step framework for achieving all this and more. Not just in the short term, but lasting transformation, which will stay with you for your entire life.
The thousands that have learned the secrets of NLP have been so successful because they have applied NLP to their daily lives. NLP is short for NeuroLinguistic Programming. And it's the same technology Oprah Winfrey, Tiger Woods, Anthony Robbins and Bill Gates (and hundreds of thousands of others) use to achieve consistent results most of us can only dream of.
In a nutshell, NLP is the study of excellence and how to produce the specific results you desire in your life on a consistent basis. NeuroLinguistic Programming often incorporates hypnosis and self-hypnosis to help achieve the change (or "programming") that is wanted.
Though some in the psychology community feel that it is only a pseudo-science, I have found enough personal evidence to back my use of NeuroLinguistic Programming. One good aspect of NLP is that it has a large number of presuppositions, and they are designed to be able to use though you feel are most beneficial.
